Star-Quality Child Care Program
The Star-Quality Child Care Program is a voluntary program that recognizes child care agencies who meet quality criteria to receive a one,
two or three star license.
DHS provides an Internet list of child care agencies that gives important information about the agency, including the Star-Quality Rating.
[ Child Care listing ]
In the "Star-Quality Rating" column you will see
Stars, or you will see a "N/A", or the column will be Blank. If you see "N/A" in the column the agency
is a Registered Home and is not eligible for the Star-Quality program.
If the column is Blank (no Stars are shown):
(a) the agency may be new and not yet eligible to be evaluated, or
(b) the agency may be eligible for Stars but has chosen not to join the Star-Quality program, or
(c) the agency may have been evaluated and did not qualify for Stars.
You should call the agency or the Local Licensing Office
for additional information about a specific provider.
