NACCRRA

The National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies' (NACCRRA) mission is to do "whatever it takes to make child care work for families and communities." To fulfill this mission, the organization supports state child care agencies and people and programs that care for children. It gathers, analyzes, and shares information with families and child care providers; builds connections in states and communities to create policies on children's issues and child care; and aids families in balancing work and home.

Each of Tennessee's eleven Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (CCR&R) uses NACCRRAware, a software program, to generate lists of child care centers and homes. Lists are then mailed to inquiring parents searching for quality child care. The child care agencies chosen are determined by the parents' specific requests and are randomly selected by NACCRRAware. This method of selection gives each child care center or home an equal opportunity to be chosen as one of the facilities suggested  to parents searching for child care in their local area.

Tennessee is one of forty-nine states using this nationally standardized data collection tool. NACCRRA assists the CCR&R agencies in providing support for nearly 5,000 child care agencies in the State of Tennessee.
